Safety, Preparation & Responsibility
Iboga is a powerful sacramental plant that works on physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual levels. Because of its depth and intensity, working with Iboga requires care, preparation, and responsibility. We approach this work with respect for both the Bwiti tradition and the well-being of each participant.
All participants are required to complete a thorough intake process prior to any ceremony. This includes medical history screening, lifestyle considerations, and a readiness assessment to help determine whether Iboga is appropriate at this time. Individuals with certain medical conditions or on specific medications may not be eligible to participate.
Ceremonies are conducted in a carefully held environment with experienced facilitators and continuous supervision. Attention is given to physical safety, psychological support, and nervous system regulation throughout the process. Adequate rest, hydration, and post-ceremony care are integral parts of the experience.
Equally important is integration. Iboga often brings deep insights, autobiographical review, and challenges to long-held patterns. Without integration, these experiences can feel overwhelming or disorienting. We emphasize post-ceremony integration support to help participants process insights, stabilize emotionally, and apply what was learned in a grounded and sustainable way.
This work is not undertaken lightly. Iboga is not a shortcut, a cure-all, or a recreational substance. It is a teacher that demands humility, preparation, and ongoing integration.
