  • Iboga (Tabernanthe iboga) is a rainforest plant traditionally used by the Bwiti people in ceremonies for healing, initiation, and spiritual growth. Its root contains psychoactive compounds, primarily ibogaine, which interacts with multiple brain systems—including dopamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine. After ingestion, ibogaine converts into noribogaine, a long-lasting compound that can remain in the body for weeks to months and is associated with reduced cravings and extended therapeutic effects.
